ABOUT
COFFEE IN THE PARK
Our Story
In the Summer 2021, Covid-19 restrictions were beginning to ease and normal activity was beginning to resume in Glenaulin Park. GAA and Soccer Matches were back and people were meeting up in Glenaulin Park for a stroll. There was only one thing missing - A Coffee Dock!
Teaming up with St. Pat's GAA Club, Ned McHugh and Mary Ong came together to set up Coffee in the Park and provide financial support to Glenaulin's GAA club of St. Pats of Palmerstown in return for Coffee dock rental space in the GAA Grounds. Coffee in the Park first started off selling Coffee, Tea and Sweets before moving onto fresh juices, soup, toasted sandwiches and a range of home-baked treats.
Once the Coffee Dock was set up, Coffee in the Park moved on to setting up a Walking group for some of the local people of Palmerstown and organising a range of Events from their own St. Patrick's Day Parade to Pop Up Gaeltachts and it doesn't stop there. In 2023 Coffee in the Park will be bringing Set Dancing and Irish nights to Glenaulin Park along with conducting a range of exciting workshops.
Coffee in the Park aims to bring more people to Glenaulin Park and allow them to connect in the outdoors. Sustainability is a big focus for both Mary and Ned and the pair always ensure to consider the environment in everything they do. While it has come a long way since setting up, Coffee in the Park believe this is only the beginning of something GREAT!
